Dr Brendon Harvey

PhD, Pg Adv. Dip. Counselling, Cert.GC, PGCE, MBACP

brendon2In 1992, Dr Brendon Harvey formed Aspects Associates, now White Cliffs Counselling. Brendon has extensive experience as a counsellor and coach, working with all types of clients. He has worked as a school teacher, college and university lecturer and researcher, a counselling trainer and management consultant. His work has encompassed clients in different sectors of industry, including both manufacturing and service industries, with staff at all levels, from shop-floor to company executives. In addition, Brendon has considerable experience from helping clients in the public sector, including services for young people and community safety.

After gaining a Certificate in Guidance and Counselling, followed by an Advanced Diploma in Counselling in 1989, he became interested in, and saw the value of, the application of helping skills for the development of organisations and their employees. This led to further training in different forms of therapeutic approaches which could be of worth to individuals, both inside and outside of their work settings.His broad research background and resulting PhD achievement helped cement this belief. He maintains a keen interest in using creative processes to help clients explore, learn and engage with their own development. This work in recent years has been focused on helping young people who are experiencing anxiety and depression. Brendon is a proud associate of My Possible Self and the Wilderness Oak charity based in North Yorkshire.

Brendon is a Registered Member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). He holds an Advanced Diploma in Counselling, a PostGraduate Certificate in Guidance and Counselling, as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. Brendon is also a Doctor of Philosophy, awarded by the University of Leicester in 2005, his doctoral research focusing on individual and organisational empowerment.
